ClassVR Event Collateral

With Avantis' commitment to making less printed collateral when possible, printed items for the Bett 2025 exhibition were limited to three main pieces.

The first piece was an invite to an evening event with sales partners of ClassVR, where new products and developments could be discussed, as well as discussing the possibilities of the use of the technology in education with other educators.

The brief for the design was left fairly open, with the copy supplied and a request to include some jungle style leaves to tie in with the rainforest theme that the stand would have at the Bett and ISTE events that the evenings would take place during.

Several designs were created, using the standard ClassVR typeface and brand colours, and a second script typeface was trialled, for contrast and to explore whether it would make the event or invite seem a bit more “classy” (several concepts are displayed below on grey backgrounds).

The eventual design featured the same jungle style leaves that would go on to be used across social media images and posts for both events, against a white background, and was used at both the Bett and ISTE events, with details changed and a slightly tweaked set of header copy between the two.  

Another piece of printed collateral was a "Future Forest" fact file that gave an overview of the explorable scene that took users into the Amazon rainforest to meet the people and animals that call it home, with a choice of alternative futures that revealed very different outcomes for the forest.

The scene and accompanying fact file was developed with the help of a Subject Matter Expert based in Peru and a member of the indigenous Ashaninka community, who work with Rainforest UK. Their feedback was implemented into the scene narrative, helping develop the design of the characters within it, and also provided valuable context for the details featured in the fact file.

The fact file layout was based on other ClassVR lesson plans and then developed further into it's own design, with the one provisor that the text had to be at 12 point in size, which meant revising the designs from the first concept layouts produced. As a result the text and images became more spread out over several pages, as opposed to the double sided layout that was first designed.

Several copies of the final design were printed and used in the Future Forest experience to help guide and give background details to the scene to participants who viewed it at the Bett and ISTE exhibitions.

One other piece of printed collateral at the ClassVR stands at the Bett and ISTE shows was an A6 thank you card that would be given out to attendees that went through the Future Forest experience on the ClassVR stand, which was an explorable scene that aligned with the Bett 2025 theme of rainforests, sustainability and climate change.

The brief was to keep the design simple, with the ClassVR logo at the top, supplied text underneath, a QR code beneath that linked to the ClassVR website with the design "nicely spaced out", and the text relatively small with a lot of white space as we were only allowed to use 30% of the available space.

The orientation of the design switched from portrait to landscape during the concept design stage, as shown on some of the concepts below, and one of those designs became the final design, which was printed onto seed based card – which meant the recipients could take the card home, plant it and start to grow a wildflower garden.
