Seed Dispersal Explorable Scene Animations
The brief for these animations was to create sequences that could help demonstrate three different methods of seed dispersal, for an explorable scene on the Eduverse and ClassVR portal.
The animations were developed in conjunction with members of the 3D team who were constructing the scene, who supplied a rough outline of what the sequence should feature, the dimensions it needed to be and the time it should run for, ensuring that the sequence could then loop back to the beginning upon completion and students and teachers could return to them if they desired after exploring more of the scene to watch them through again.
The animations were requested to have a simple, thicker, hand drawn look, created from a mix of traced elements from existing sources or stock vectors, which were then tweaked to suit specifically to fit in with the style of the parchment scrolls they would be imposed onto in the scene, with the 3D team providing feedback on the style of the assets as the animations were developed.
As well as utilising existing skills from previous animations I had done, the sequence featuring the fox picking up some xanthium seeds off a hedge required learning about character rigging, and animating a static vector illustration to make the fox walk in a realistic manner in the scene.
