Avantis World Promotional Video

The brief was to produce a video that gave an overview of the Avantis World virtual theme park, what it was and the benefits of using it in a teaching environment.

The process of creating the video involved turning the static vector illustrations produced by the brand manager into animated scenes, adding in the flythrough videos produced by the 3D team at Avantis, plus designing and animating the titles for each individual land featured and timing all of these elements to match the voiceover, as well as adding transitions where needed and other edits and tweaks as needed to the video and audio elements as the process went on.

The voiceover was provided by the voiceover artist Nastasia Marque with the backing track sourced by the Avantis marketing team, making the production of the video a team effort and overall this is probably the most challenging piece of video and animation I have animated and edited together to date.
Golden Age of Cinema Video

This video was created to be a part of the History of Cinema virtual reality scene on the Avantis World virtual theme park. The scene itself was created by a member of the education services team, and was developed with input from myself and one of the marketing team into what form the scene could take, what it could involve, the setting and what objects could be contained within it.

The central idea was to have a cinema in the scene, with a film playing in the auditorium featuring various aspects of the golden age of cinema. From there I researched the design of cinemas from the years that period covered, as well as looking at film stock types of the era, adverts, styles of advertising, posters and what the cinematic experience was like. I developed the ideas for the video, recreating, designing and animating elements from scratch, as well as sourcing suitable video footage, still images, music and sound effects to be used (as well as inserting some subtle cinematic Easter eggs throughout the video!).

In addition to this, I also designed two potential layouts to show the 3D designer in how the scene might be laid out, as well as designing signage and posters for the cinema for the 3D designer to use (shown below), plus researching and supplying them with imagery of golden age era cinemas to help inspire the look and design of the cinema in the scene.
Avantis World Teacher Notes sheets
Open brief to redesign the existing Teacher Notes sheets that accompany each scene in the various lands in the Avantis World virtual theme park. The notes consist of three pages, with a sumamry on the first page, with a student quiz and answer sheet to accompany it, with the colour scheme reflecting that of the respective land's icon
Selection of Avantis World icons
Icons designed for use across the Avantis World virtual theme park – brief was to keep the icon design relatively simple and ensure it worked at various sizes, especially smaller sizes, so they could be utilised across the Avantis World website and other media.
